Wolves Recent Form
It has been an extremely tough start to the season for Wolves so far as European football has taken its toll on their squad.
Indeed, they’ve played 14 matches already this campaign and that intense compact fixture list has certainly caught up with them, resulting in two defeats from their six winless matches in the Premier League.
Fortunately for them though, they’re hosting the only other side that is yet to taste victory this weekend.
Watford Recent Form
Watford, having sacked Javi Gracia earlier this month, will be concerned they suffered a humiliating 8-0 defeat at the Etihad last time out with Sanchez Flores back at the reins.
However, they did at least come back from two goals down to earn a point when Arsenal came to town prior to that in the Spanish manager’s first game in charge.
The Hornets have lost seven of their nine winless league matches since their last meeting with Wolves back in April, while on the road they’re W1-D1-L6 in the league since late February, with their solitary victory coming over an already relegated Terriers side.
More concerningly has been the scorelines in those away fixtures as they managed to net just five goals compared to a staggering 24 conceded, which doesn’t even include their 6-0 nightmare at Wembley in the FA Cup final.
Wolves To Win
The Wanderers made wholesale changes for their Carabao Cup fixture in midweek and that should put them in good stead for this match.
Indeed, they’ve lost just six of their 22 games at Molineux since their promotion for the 2018/19 campaign, while they’re on a recent successful run here of W12-D5-L2 from their last 19 matches across all competitions since early January.
Indeed, that run includes victories over the likes of Liverpool, Leicester, West Ham, Man Utd (twice) and Arsenal, while their sole defeat in the league came against Chelsea and with that in mind we just can’t see the Hornets causing them too many problems.
