Nobody expected this game to be a top-six clash at the start of the season, but both sides are where they are on merit. Wolves have done well to cope on two fronts, while Sheffield Utd are defying what were initially low expectations at the outset having just been promoted.
Although Wolves have only lost one of their eight matches on the weekend following a Europa League fixture on a Thursday night, these have nonetheless tended to be the games where they’ve dropped points this term.

The Portuguese outfit are the only team to beat Wolves in Europe so far and lead Group K prior to their midweek clash, one point ahead of the midlands sides, so their meeting at the Estadio Municipal de Braga is likely to determine who tops the final standings.

The Blades are certainly a tough team to overcome and are on a six-game unbeaten streak at present, despite having played Arsenal, Spurs and Man Utd over this period, as they drew four of these six matches.
Strangely, across all competitions, each of their four defeats this season have come at Bramall Lane, though they were all by tight one-goal margins.
It’s on their travels where draws have been more frequent, producing stalemates in five of six unbeaten trips, while home or away, five of their six outings that have finished all square have seen both teams find the net.

Raul Jimenez had been looking a tad jaded prior to the October international break and was subsequently given time off from Mexico duty to recharge the batteries.
The effect has been transformative, with the 28-year-old forward scoring in four of Wolves’ five outings since then in the Premier League, while he’s been finding the net in Europe too.
He also added a couple of goals for El Tri during the most recent internationals in November and looks well-placed to strike again.
