Recent Form

West Ham come into this one off the back of some testing fixtures. Across all competitions, seven of their last eight opponents have been expected top-half finishers as they’ve faced Arsenal, Wolves, Everton, Leicester, Tottenham, Man City and Liverpool.

Still, they acquitted themselves well as they went W2-D2-L3 against that lot, including emphatic 4-0 and 3-0 triumphs over Wolves and the Foxes respectively, as their defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal came by narrow 2-1 scorelines.

The host’s other fixtures this season perhaps give a better indication as to how they’ll fare here. Although they went down 2-0 to Newcastle on the opening day, resounding League Cup wins over Charlton (3-0) and Hull (5-1) suggest they should have too much for the limited Cottagers.

Last time out, former Hammers midfielder Scott Parker saw his Fulham side register a first league win of the season. That lifted them outside the relegation zone, but it’s worth noting that it came at home over fellow promoted outfit West Brom.

The Baggies have conceded a league-high 16 times already this season as only two sides have scored fewer goals, with Slaven Bilic’s charges looking increasingly out of their depth at this level, so Fulham will have to back that result up with further performances if they’re to avoid the drop this term.

West Ham/West Ham HT/FT

The visitors had registered just one point from their opening six league games prior to Monday night’s win, as the stalemate came against struggling Sheffield Utd. In fact, they’ve trailed at both half time and full time in four of their five defeats this term.

Meanwhile, the Hammers have led at the break in six of seven victories under David Moyes since he arrived at the helm for his second spell at the club, as the exception came in a win over Chelsea last term where they were still level at half time.

West Ham To Beat Fulham

Scott Parker has no fresh injury concerns, but he’s still without suspended striker Aboubakar Kamara, midfield duo Terence Kongolo and Josh Onomah, right-back Kenny Tete, while winger Neeskens Kebano is touch and go.

David Moyes should see captain Mark Noble return to the fold after missing the defeat at Liverpool, but he is without key striker Michael Antonio.

However, given Fulham’s defensive record, we’d still expect the Hammers to still have some considerable joy going forwards.
