Recent Form
After being 1-0 up in the fourth minute of the game, Watford let in four goals on the bounce to lose the game 4-1 in their last outing against West Ham. Claudio Rainieri will not be happy with the defensive performance of the Hornets in their last game but they maybe should have scored more goals with West Ham having a makeshift defence with three of their four starting defenders out with injuries.
This was Watford’s first Premier League game in 18 days after having their last three consecutive games cancelled due to the current pandemic.
Antonio Conte will also not be best pleased with his team's latest performance. Spurs went down 1-0 against Southampton thanks to a James Ward-Prowse volley in the 25th minute but a sending off for Mohammed Salisu for a tackle inside the box just 15 minutes after the opener meant that Spurs were level at half time with a man to spare.
They were wasteful and lacked the killer instinct that was required to put the game to bed. Conte became the first Tottenham manager to be unbeaten in his first seven Premier League games but he knows there is a lot of work still to do if they want to make the top four this year.
The Hornets have won only two games (Everton and Manchester Utd) out of their last 11 and they have lost the other nine games whilst also losing the last five games in a row, they have only four wins this season and are sitting one point outside the relegation zone.
Spurs To Win And Both Teams To Score
Watford’s biggest problem area is defence, with 35 goals against them this season only three teams have conceded more than them this year and they haven’t managed to keep a clean sheet all season.
It's not all doom and gloom for the Hornets because their attacking has been a real strong suit this season, they have scored the same amount as Spurs so far (22) which puts them at the midpoint in the goals scored table.
Tottenham have had some struggles away from home recently and have only scored six goals when playing on the road this season, while their only away goal under Conte so far was a penalty against Southampton in their most recent game so it seems like they struggle to score goals from open play when they don’t have the home crowd on their side.
Although Tottenham haven’t been fantastic one the road this season, Conte hasn’t really been given the opportunity to show how his side performs when under pressure from the opposition crowd.
While Watford score less and concede more when they play at home and that they have lost their last five in a row, they have also scored in their last six games, both teams to score and Tottenham to win seems like the bet with the most value.
