Recent Form

It was an impressive performance from Wasps in the last round of the normal league season to ensure they return to the Ricoh Arena for the semi-finals. Indeed, they thrashed a rotated Exeter outfit 46-5, with six tries on the board and they’ll have their tails up heading into this next one.

Bristol are into the Premiership semi-finals for the first time in 13 years after an impressive season under Pat Lam.

They’ll certainly prefer the prospect of travelling to Coventry then the grueling task of taking on the West Country champions at Sandy Park, and we wouldn’t give Bath much hope in their trip there.

They come here off the back of four straight victories when including their extra-time victory over Bordeaux in the Challenge Cup, scoring a minimum of 36 points in each.

Wasps 1-12 Point Winning Margin

Wasps do possess an advantageous head-to-head record against their visitors, winning all four meetings between the two sides since the start of last season. It should be noted though, that all but one of those wins came by fewer than eight points, with the only one that didn’t being the most recent less than a month ago here.

However, that 59-35 scoreline certainly flattered Wasps, with Bristol putting a second-string side out and we’d certainly expect this next one to be a lot closer.

Interestingly, since the 2005/06 season when the top four started automatically qualifying for the play-offs, the home team has won 23 of the 28 semi-finals (82%).

Although with the empty stadiums the home advantage might not be quite as advantageous in the empty stadiums, there’s still no doubt that you’d prefer to be in your own backyard, and considering the hosts are on a current six-game winning streak, we like their chances of just edging this one.

Wasps 1-12 Point Winning Margin At 8/5
