Villa will still feel hard done by having lost out to Arsenal after they’d gone a goal and a man up, but it was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who once again dug the Gunners out. Fortunately, for Dean Smith’s men Burnley don’t possess any game winners of that calibre in their side and so they’ll be confident of getting a result this weekend having put away Brighton in their midweek league cup fixture.

However, they got back to winning ways over Norwich last time out as Chris Wood opened his account for the season with a brace in the opening 15 minutes, and in doing so has launched his team into the top half of the table.
Villa meanwhile, have had a fairly turbulent return to the Premier League, going W1-D1-L4 from their six outings, although they have faced all of Spurs, Everton and Arsenal already.
In fact, they’ve had every possible outcome in the 1X2 market so far from their three respective games at Villa Park, and with a clean sheet in each of the last two against Everton (2-0) and West Ham (0-0), they’ll be confident of containing the visitors’ strike force.
The Draw
With two stalemates from three winless trips so far for Burnley, it looks as if this is likely to head that way too.
Indeed, each of those single pointers saw fewer than three goals, while against promoted outfits they’ve gone W6-D5-L2 from their 13 such outings since the start of the 2017/18 campaign, as 10 saw two strikes or fewer and seven with just one or fewer.

This fixture has got a low scoring stalemate written all over it. Only four teams have scored fewer than Smith’s men on home turf this term, while only five have netted fewer than Burnley on the road, and so we’ll back the ‘Unders’ and the draw.
