Ulster reached their first Pro14 final since losing to Leinster in the 2012/13 edition of the competition. Indeed, they suffered the same fate this time around, although that can be forgiven with the form Leo Cullen’s men have been in.
Toulouse along with Leinster are the only sides to win all six of their group games at this seasons’ Champions Cup, having played all of Gloucester, Montpellier and Connacht, and the French outfits’ current crop of players look capable of bringing back the dominant Toulouse of old.
A semi-final last year saw them come up just short, with Leinster downing them at that stage 30-12, but a recurring factor with this group of players is how solid they have been at home compared to on the road.
The French side have now lost nine of their last 10 trips in their domestic Top 14 league, with that sole victory coming by a five point margin at last seasons’ second-from-bottom Agen.
However, it has been a very different story on home turf, as they remain unbeaten here since the start of last season in both Champions Cup and Top 14 (W11-D1), and their Irish opposition will have to be at the top of their game in order to come away with anything.

Dan McFarland’s men have been a bit shaky since returning from the enforced break in the season. They lost to both Connacht and Leinster and although they beat Conference B winners Edinburgh to reach the Pro14 final, they required a late comeback in that victory and they certainly have their work cut out in this one.
In fact, they’re just W1-L5 at neutral or away venues dating back to mid-December now, with the average losing margin being more than the current 11 point margin for this one.
Toulouse have won all their three home European home games by more than the current handicap line, while they also put 39 points past La Rochelle last weekend, and they look well poised to cover the handicap once again.
