Tottenham enjoyed some initial optimism with wins over Southampton and Sheffield Utd in their first two league games under caretaker Ryan Mason, but failure to prove competitive in the League Cup final against Man City and a 3-1 defeat to Leeds last time out suggests not too much has altered.
Spurs have won just three of 10 appearances now in all competitions, losing half of these games, and look far too short at the prices to take the spoils.
Although three of those defeats were inflicted by Arsenal, Man Utd and Man City, the defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in Europe was a particular low point and we’d expect their visitors to at least prove competitive.
Although it’s Spurs that will be more desperate for the points as they seek to secure European football next term, Wolves have been quietly improving in recent weeks and have taken 10 points from their past five matches.
Admittedly, each of these fixtures were against bottom-half sides, but they’ve still only lost twice in nine league road trips, with one of those defeats coming against City.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been linked with the Spurs job and can take encouragement from past performances against the hosts. Wolves have won their past two trips to face Spurs in London, and took a point from the reverse fixture earlier in this campaign.
They may have lost both home games in this fixture in each of the past two campaigns, but both defeats came by a single goal margin.

Both sides have found the net in all five encounters since Wolves were promoted, though the visitors have been robbed of some considerable firepower this season.
Diogo Jota was sold to Liverpool and Raul Jimenez suffered long-term injury with a fractured skull, while more recently Pedro Neto saw his season prematurely ended.
Still, Wolves have only failed to score once in their past six fixtures, with Fabio Silva and Adama Traore both registering twice each over this period.
Tottenham’s backline is hardly watertight, with their squad far better at the sharp end, as their only clean sheet in seven appearances came against rock-bottom Sheffield Utd, who are by far the division’s lowest scorers.
