Recent Form

Tottenham won the reverse fixture 6-1, but they enter this game with a shroud of negativity hanging overhead.

Despite Newcastle missing Callum Wilson entirely and with Allan Saint-Maximin featuring for just 20 minutes from the bench, Spurs threw away two points last weekend at St. James' Park as they conceded five minutes from time.

That result was hugely damaging to their top four prospects, with the saving grace that Chelsea also slipped up in their surprising defeat to West Brom, but it's clear that Jose Mourinho has become frustrated with the lack of quality his side possess at the back.

Whereas at past clubs his conservative tactics have been built upon solid foundations, managing the likes of John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho at Chelsea, Walter Samuel at Inter Milan and Sergio Ramos, Pepe and Raphael Varane at Real Madrid, he simply doesn't have the same calibre of centre-backs at Tottenham.

However, public digs at his squad are hardly likely to enamour him to them, while club captain Hugo Lloris has made it pretty clear that not everyone at the club is pulling in the same direction.

Man United To Beat Spurs

Spurs are not a happy camp at present then, and it would be no surprise if Mourinho elected to drop Davinson Sanchez after recent performances and plump for a centre-back pairing of Toby Alderweireld and Joe Rodon here.

Tottenham have managed just one win in their last four now, against an Aston Villa side missing talisman Jack Grealish, as they've also suffered spirit-sapping defeats in the North London derby against Arsenal and in Europe to Dinamo Zagreb.

However, most concerning of all has to be their record in the big games this term. Since mid-December, they've lost seven of eight matches against the best sides they've encountered (Liverpool twice, Leicester, Chelsea, Everton, Man City, West Ham and Arsenal).

Even the exception saw them go down in extra time to the Toffees in the FA Cup, so they look ill-equipped to bounce back from recent setbacks here.

Man Utd enjoyed a comfortable evening in Spain midweek as they ran out 2-0 winners over Granada, taking them to four wins from their last five appearances. Losing Anthony Martial to injury last weekend was a blow, but their grip on second place is looking increasingly strong and they've now lost just once in 17 appearances, even managing a win over a dominant Man City during this period.

Man United Draw No Bet

The Red Devils did however draw eight of those 17 matches, with these largely coming against quality outfits as the likes of Arsenal, Everton, West Ham, Real Sociedad, Chelsea and Milan have all claimed a stalemate.

That certainly leaves them an attractive proposition draw no bet, but given Tottenham's record in their big tests this season, we'd be encouraged to back them to claim all three points and pile on the misery for their hosts.

Man United Draw No Bet At 8/11

Man United To Beat Spurs At 7/5
