Recent Form

This will be the first taste of the North London derby for these two managers, at least as far as the dugout is concerned in Mikel Arteta’s case, and it can often be a tumultuous affair with plenty of bookings dished out by the officials.

In fact, nine of 12 league meetings since 2014 have featured a minimum of four yellow cards, while eight of these games saw at least five.

Over 4.5 Bookings

When taking into consideration second yellows and straight reds, these 12 matches have averaged 5.75 bookings per game.

With that in mind this market looks attractive at the prices – even if Eddie Nketiah will play no part after showing too much enthusiasm last time out against Leicester.

Jose certainly knows how to fight a war of attrition and he’ll probably need to in order come out on top here, with his side hardly free-flowing at the moment.

Under 2.5 Goals

Spurs have scored more than once in just two of their past 11 matches across all competitions, with one of those against relegation contenders West Ham, and in the league alone five of their last six have seen Under 2.5 Goals land.

Arsenal struggled in their first two games back as David Luiz’s antics cost them dearly at Man City, while Brighton produced a second-half comeback at the Amex.

However, Arteta has adapted and switched formation in their five subsequent unbeaten matches in all tournaments.

They won four of these, but of particular interest is the change of shape to a back three, which has afforded greater protection and made them harder to beat as they’ve registered three clean sheets.

The head-to-heads haven’t been quite so high-scoring in recent seasons either, with six of the last eight in all competitions featuring fewer than three goals.

Neither team can afford to lose this game with just three points separating sixth-placed Wolves and Burnley in 10th ahead of the final four rounds of fixtures, so expect no quarter to be given as this could descend into quite a scrappy game.

Both teams have players out for this clash, but we’re not convinced that’ll be a decisive factor here. Spurs are without the suspended Eric Dier, injured duo Juan Foyth and Japhet Tanganga, while Dele Alli is a doubt.

For Arsenal, aside from Nketiah and possibly Matteo Guendouzi depending on his attitude, Bernd Leno, Calum Chambers, Pablo Mari, Mesut Ozil and Gabriel Martinelli are sidelined, though none of these have established themselves as indispensable.
