The Sunrisers fell to an opening defeat to the Knight Riders, losing agonisingly by a narrow 10 run margin, while RCB came through with a last gasp victory over Mumbai Indians in their season opener, so this new look side may prove very difficult to beat as the season wears on.
Jonny Bairstow put on a good innings, though it was a bit of a shock to see him in the middle-order considering how well he opened the batting at times last season.
Kane Williamson could come into that middle order as Bairstow pushes further up to partner David Warner at the start, though it’s unclear whether they’ll make impulse changes after just one game.
RCB To Beat The Sunrisers
RCB, captained by the great Virat Kohli, will be overjoyed with how well their summer recruits performed in their opener, and it looks as though they may have jelled quite nicely as a team already, with Glenn Maxwell providing some much-needed impetus in the middle-order.
The confidence they’ll take from that opening win can’t be understated, and we’d expect no changes to their team here.
This is going to be another lose contest whichever way you look at it, though there seems to be a slightly better balance to RCB at the moment, and there’s a reason they go into this one as favourites, so we’ll go with the grain on this and back them to make it two from two.
