Spurs suffered a shock Carabao Cup exit in midweek after they went down on penalties away to league two outfit Colchester.

Indeed, it has occurred in six of the hosts’ last seven league games and also in 11 of Southampton’s last 14 league fixtures when taking on last season’s top half.
