Spurs Recent Form
Spurs are still yet to really get going this term. They laboured to a win over Villa on the opening day, produced a pair of stalemates with Man City and Arsenal (and being very fortunate against Pep Guardiola’s side at that), while a defeat hosting Newcastle was inexplicable.
However, Mauricio Pochettino’s outfit were always unlikely to keep pace with Liverpool and City in the long term, so alarm bells need not ring out with plenty of teams dropping points at this early stage.

A low-scoring affair appears the likely outcome as across all competitions, each of the last eight head-to-head meetings since February 2016 has finished either 1-0 or 2-0 as Spurs won six of these matches.
Both of Palace’s successes came in the FA Cup and in league action alone, Spurs have won all eight encounters since 2015/16, with three of four designated home fixtures ending 1-0.

Spurs’ defeat to Newcastle appears a one off and they’re usually very consistent against bottom-half outfits. Prior to that result, they’d won 27 of 31 unbeaten fixtures against such teams since 2016/17. They kept a clean sheet in 20 of these games, as nine finished 1-0, so while Spurs may have to work for maximum points, they should get there in the end.
Harry Kane To Score Last
Harry Kane will take confidence from his hat-trick against Bulgaria during the international break and we think there’s good reason to back him as last goalscorer in this clash.
For Spurs, he’s struck the final blow in seven of the last 10 matches in which he’s found the net when including pre-season. Meanwhile, with Palace set to dig a trench around their goalmouth, a good penalty box operator could be central to making the breakthrough.
