Southampton remain four points above Man City heading into this fixture, albeit having played a game more, as both sides could only produce stalemates midweek.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men will have been slightly frustrated that they couldn’t capitalize on Arsenal’s third red card in five league matches, with Nathan Redmond striking the crossbar as the Saints pushed for a winner.

They will however struggle to keep the Saints ay bay. The south coast outfit have lost just once in 11, winning seven of these games, as even the sole defeat came by a one-goal margin to a late Man Utd turnaround. They didn’t fail to score in any of these outings and have in fact scored twice at a minimum in nine of their past 12, as well as each of their past seven at St. Mary’s.
Southampton have won by a minimum two-goal margin in four of five outings at St. Mary’s since the start of October.
However, there should be a note of caution with three of those coming over West Brom, Newcastle, and Sheffield Utd, while the other victory came against an Everton side in the midst of some poor form.

Both teams have scored in eight of 11 head-to-heads in all competitions since 2015/16, though Man City have typically triumphed and four of five meetings since 2018/19 have seen Man City and both teams to score pay out.
Southampton are however in great form and having won the most recent clash at St. Mary’s back in July, look worth backing to get something from this encounter.
Indeed, they’ve made some fast starts this term with the 15 first-half goals they’ve scored a joint league high, while City have won just one of their past five road trips in the league, with even that a narrow 1-0 success over rock-bottom Sheffield United.
