Recent Form
Leicester were already assured of qualification from their Europa League group, but a hugely disappointing defeat away at Ukrainian outfit Zorya means they’ll still need a win hosting AEK Athens on the final day to snatch first place.
Brendan Rodgers could have done with a dead rubber fixture as the games pile up, especially with centre-back Caglar Soyuncu coming off after just 17 minutes having suffered a recurrence of a groin injury.
The Foxes have better news with Ricardo Pereira and Wilfried Ndidi returning to the starting line-up, while Timothy Castagne is also pushing for inclusion following a hamstring injury.
Fresh bodies will no doubt be of use to Leicester for the upcoming schedule, as Rodgers needs to get back on track having now lost three of four winless outings in all competitions.
Leicester To Win
Leicester had won six on the bounce prior to their recent dip in form and couldn’t ask for kinder opponents to rebuild some momentum. Sheffield Utd ended last season badly and have endured a dismal start to the current campaign, losing 12 of their past league 13 games and drawing the other.
They failed to find the net on eight occasions, with six of these finishing 1-0, though we wouldn’t rule them out from scoring having grabbed consolation efforts against the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea this season.
Leicester To Win 2-1
Chris Wilder’s men overachieved last term, but although they’re in danger of being cut adrift at the bottom, they do put up a fight and don’t often suffer heavy beatings.
They’ve only lost by more than a single goal in one of their past nine, away at Chelsea, as they’ve gone down 1-0 or 2-1 on seven occasions. Leicester won by that latter scoreline when visiting Bramall Lane last term, and we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see it happen again.
Jamie Vardy To Score Anytime
Jamie Vardy was one of four key men left at home for the trip to Zorya along with Kasper Schmeichel, Jonny Evans and Youri Tielemans.
He should be fresh for this encounter then and although he’s failed to score in his last two league games, he did net away at Braga in Europe between those outings.
He’s now scored nine times in seven away matches this term, finding the net at least once in six of these appearances, as Liverpool were the only side to keep him at bay.
0.5pts: Leicester 2-1 Correct Score At 8/1
0.5pts: Jamie Vardy To Score Anytime At 10/11
