Recent Form
Just when you thought Arsenal might be able to grind out a performance over Slavia Praha in the quarters of the Europa League during the week, they threw it away in the dying minutes to end the game all-square.
They did put in a much better showing than what was seen last weekend against Liverpool, but it seems to be a recurring theme for this Gunners outfit.
Sheffield Utd are hardly tough opposition though. Chris Wilders’ men have lost seven of their last eight games in all competitions, and eight of their last nine such games against Premier League opposition dating back to early February.
Relegation is inbound for the Blades given that atrocious form and on just 14 points after 30 games, but we would take a little more confidence in their home form.
They’ve won five of their nine games when including the FA Cup at Bramall Lane this calendar year, netting in seven of them, as two of their defeats came against Chelsea and Spurs, who beat them 2-1 and 3-1 respectively.
Both Teams To Score
They are a miserly W1-L11 against the ‘Big Six’ and Leicester this season, though they did net in eight of those. At home against those sides, they’ve lost all six but did find themselves on the scoreboard in four of the five most recent.
Mikel Arteta’s men are still in search of their first clean sheet in 14 games now in all tournaments dating back to the start of February, and we wouldn’t be surprised if they let another slip against the worst team in the league.
You have to go back to their first game on the year against West Brom for their last clean sheet on the road, and the both teams to score market looks a big price considering it’s also occurred in all three meetings between the sides since the start of 2020.
Arsenal To Win And Both Teams To Score
The Gunners looked a different team with the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and Bakayo Saka returning to the fray midweek, even if the result wasn’t what they wanted.
In fact, their points per game increases from 0.89 to 2.17 this term when Smith Rowe is in the starting line-up, and that could prove the difference in this one.
All their last six victories have come while conceding since beating Southampton back in January and that looks the way to go in this game.
Of course, they’re now winless in four outings across all competitions, but given how poor this Blades team have been with their season is all but over, the match result and both teams to strike looks solid.
