Having lost last weekend to Glasgow the pressure has now mounted on Sale to win this time around, although they can take positives from that result as they nearly came away with the win having been camped in the oppositions’ 22 in the dying minutes of the game.

In fact, their only fixture at the AJ Bell Stadium this month came against a pretty full-strength Wasps side, who they downed convincingly by 10 points.
Welcoming back some of their World Cup leaders, we’d be surprised to not see a pretty big disparity between these sides this weekend.

These two teams met seven months ago in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup, with the French side taking the plaudits that day by four points at their home stadium.
However, this will likely be a very different story now we’re in England and instead of La Rochelle going into the game as 3/10 favourites, they’re now at a huge 9/2.
Moreover, Diamond’s men have won three of their last four European outings at their home stadium, with those victories producing a combined score of 93-33, and so we’ll back them to cover the handicap.
