Recent Form
Having lost a tight encounter to CSK in their opener, normal service was resumed for the Mumbai Indians. A 49 runs win against the Knight Riders in a sense flattered the Kolkata side, after a late few sixes and in truth the result was never in doubt.
Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav put on 90 off 63 for the second wicket after Quinton de Kock fell early, and it’s that strength in depth that has earned them four IPL titles in the last nine seasons, and why they’ll undoubtedly still be the team to beat this year.
RCB had vastly different fortunes in their last outing, losing by a whopping 97 runs to Kings XI Punjab, putting on the lowest total so far this season of just 109 having been bowled out after 17 overs.
Dale Steyn and Umesh Yadav were again below par, and unless Yazvenda Chahal can replicate his form that earned him figures of 3/18 in the first match, this should be comfortable for the Indians provided the bat first and the conditions don’t suit the spin.
Mumbai Indians To Beat RCB
The last four opening innings scores at this ground have been 157, 163, 207 and 175, and as the season goes on the pitch is likely to deteriorate, seeing much lower scores.
All four of those were winning scores, and we would happy to back the ‘Unders’ market on this occasion, which would provide immense value if RCB were to bat first, though with that not available for selection, we’ll stick with the Indians at a heavy odds-on price and pray the toss goes in their favour.
Mumbai Indians To Beat RCB At 7/10
