Despite a 42 from Ambati Rayudu, CSK could only manage 132 in their chase leaving them with five defeats from their last six matches. Today Kohli will be greeting with much smaller boundaries, and could wreak some havoc off the back of that big score.
Those boundaries make totals much higher on this ground, with DC’s 184 the lowest first innings total here in five matches.
As the pitch begins to slow up as the season wears on, we’d expect that total to drop in parallel, though with the batting lineups these sides possess it just feels wrong backing a low score here at Sharjah.
