Recent Form
Celtic are W13-D1-L1 since the start of October, with the sole defeat inflicted away in Germany by Bayer Leverkusen. In domestic matches alone, they’ve won 10 of 11 unbeaten games over this period, also registering seven clean sheets, with each of the last six ending in victory.
The latest outing saw them run out 1-0 winners over Motherwell, bringing them back to within four points of Rangers after the latter won away at Hearts earlier in the day.
Ange Postecoglou’s side haven’t been short of goals this season, netting three times in each of their previous two fixtures against Dundee Utd and Real Betis.
However, they are facing a real injury crisis in attack at present, with James Forrest the latest to join the treatment table.
Tom Rogic To Score Anytime
Strikers Kyogo Furuhashi, Giorgos Giakoumakis and Albian Ajeti were already missing, as well as winger Jota, so to lose Forrest as well was the last thing Postecoglou would have wanted.
Without a recognized striker left available to him, the Australian opted to utilize David Turnbull as a makeshift false nine, though in truth the attacking personnel rotated throughout.
Postecoglou may now be forced to turn to youth and bring Ewan Henderson back into the side here, but Tom Rogic, David Turnbull and Liel Abada look set to carry the main threat.
Rogic in particular has been a bright spark for Celtic this season and scored his second goal in as many league games against Motherwell, and with a little bit more composure could have added a couple more to his tally.
Celtic To Win To Nil
Ross County are W3-D2-L1 over their past six fixtures, even if the exception was a 4-2 defeat away at Rangers. They’re currently unbeaten in four, winning their past two at home over Hibernian and Dundee, representing their best spell of the season.
However, although this improved sequence of results has lifted them off the foot of the table, they’ve only moved up to 11th place.
They’re still only level with the new bottom side St. Johnstone on points, leading on goals scored, so it’s a bit early to suggest that Malky Mackay’s team have turned the corner.
At least one team has failed to score in 10 of 11 head-to-heads between these two sides since 2017/18, with Celtic winning nine of them and losing the other two.
They’ve already beaten Ross County 3-0 this season at Parkhead and given they come into this fixture with nine wins from 10 unbeaten league games, including clean sheets in each of their past three, the win to nil looks promising.
PREDICTIONS:
TOM ROGIC TO SCORE ANYTIME
CELTIC TO WIN TO NIL
