Celtic don’t have much hope of catching Rangers at this point with the damage already done earlier in the season. However, without the pressure of securing a tenth title in a row as expectations have dampened, they’re ending the campaign in fine fashion.
They’ve won five on the trot now and although enjoying a kind fixture list of late, they face rock-bottom Ross County here and have won 15 of their last 17 encounters with teams below fifth in the table.
Despite defence proving the Hoops’ Achilles heel this season, 11 of those victories still saw them register clean sheets, and we’d expect that to be the case once again.
Ross County are the league’s lowest scorers having netted just 21 times in 28 appearances, and they come into this fixture off the back of a 2-0 home defeat to mid-table Dundee Utd.
Across all competitions, they’re a poor W3-D1-L10 since the start of December, failing to score in eight of those defeats, though they have improved under new manager John Hughes.
Still, they’ve lost six out of 10 since his appointment, including a 2-0 defeat against Celtic themselves in his first game in charge.
Celtic To Win To Nil
At least one team has failed to score in eight of nine head-to-head clashes since 2017/18, as the Celtic win to nil landed on seven occasions.
Ross County did manage their sole victory from this period in the League Cup back in November, but Nel Lennon’s side were in crisis mode at the time and their performance levels are undeniably better now.
Five of Ross County’s six defeats under current management have seen them beaten by at least two clear goals, with their other meeting against the Old Firm duo over this period seeing them thumped 5-0 by Rangers at Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard’s men have been a cut above the rest of the field this term, but Celtic haven’t exactly struggled for firepower either.

In fact, the Hoops have netted at least twice in 14 of their last 16 against teams below fifth in the table, including 17 goals across their past five such road trips.
Home or away, they’ve won by at least two clear goals in eight of their past nine against the bottom four in the table and with that in mind, the visitors appear set to cover the handicap as well.
