LIVERPOOL, WOLVES AND CHELSEA ALL TO WIN AT 7/1 HERE!
Recent Form
Rangers left it late on Sunday to down Motherwell and will be hoping for a more routine victory when visiting Ross County, though with Steven Gerrard balancing European and domestic commitments, he’ll need to rotate his squad for this one.
That should mean the in-form but 37-year-old Jermain Defoe should drop to the bench, though they have Alfredo Morelos to come in, while the likes of Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent should be fresh having also been stationed on the bench at the weekend. This is a game the Gers should be winning, even if it won’t be a walk in the park.
The hosts showed some mettle to fight back from two goals down to earn a draw away at Hibs on Saturday, leaving them on a run of three stalemates from four winless fixtures. Worryingly for them however, a trip to Celtic in their toughest test so far saw them thumped 6-0.
Although Rangers aren’t exceptional at racking up the big scores away from Ibrox, they have been effective at winning games. Five of their past six domestic matches on their travels have ended in victory, while in the league alone they’ve won three of four unbeaten trips.
Rangers To Win And Both Teams To Score
Excluding the bottom five in the table, Ross County have conceded 14 times in five matches this season. Only the two teams at the bottom of the standings (St. Johnstone and Hibs) have shipped more goals, so Rangers should have the firepower to get the job done and keep pace with Celtic.
However, Gerrard’s charges have only kept one clean sheet in their past five across all competitions, while in the league alone they have just seven clean sheets from 23 away matches since he took the reins.
Given Ross County have scored at least once in all four home games this campaign, averaging two per game, they’re more than capable of registering, even it is just a consolation effort in defeat.
HT/Draw – FT/Rangers
Although the visitors should wear their hosts down eventually, there’s good reason to think that Ross County can keep things on a competitive footing.
They’ve been level at the break in five of their last six games, with the exception when they were only 1-0 down at half time to Celtic before the champions entered party mode after the interval.
Meanwhile, the Gers have been all square after the opening 45 in each of their past three road trips, so this may well have to be another ground out victory.
