Salzburg have rather unsurprisingly been dominating the Ö. Bundesliga, with them hoping to seal what would be their ninth title in a row and if they go on to win it, it will be the 13th title in the last 16 years. Karim Adeyemi has been a gem for them so far this season with 14 goals from his 18 games.
It would be no surprise to anyone if he got ‘transferred’ to their German counterpart club RB Leipzig, although Adeyemi has not committed himself to anyone yet, he is a German national and will most likely find himself in the Bundesliga and I don’t think anyone would be surprised if we eventually saw him in a Bayern shirt.
Some have likened him to Erling Braut Haaland in terms of their raw talent and his keen eye for goal.
Bayern were handed a rare defeat at the weekend, losing 4-2 to VFL Bochum which was a massive upset when you factor in that they are 11th in the league and the last time the two met Bayern won 7-0.
Bochum managed to score all four of their goals within the space of 30 minutes inside the first half (from 14th-44th minute).
Despite their loss at the weekend, Bayern have been known to suffer a shock defeat from time-to-time and will likely not let it effect confidence, so we’d expect a strong response here.
Bayern To Win And Over 2.5 Goals
The giants of the Bundesliga, Bayern, Dortmund and Leverkusen are never goal shy. Indeed, in the 22 Bundesliga matches Bayern have played this year they have scored 70 and conceded 25 which means their average match goals are an extremely high 4.1.
Their goalscoring prowess isn’t just limited to the domestic scene either, and in the Champions League they’ve won all six games, scoring 22 whilst only conceding three.
They managed to beat Barcelona 6-0 over the course of their two games which would have come as a great pleasure to Bayern’s President who has publicly stated his distain towards the Catalans. If they can beat Barcelona like that, there is no telling what will happen to Salzburg.
Salzburg were in the same group as another German side in Wolfsburg, and they narrowly lost to them by a 2-1 scoreline but they got the better of them in the other fixture winning 3-1, to give some context to this result, last time Bayern played Wolfsburg they won 4-0 and the last time Wolfsburg managed to beat the Bavarians was in 2015, when they won on penalties in a domestic cup game when Bayern were resting their first team.
Adeyemi poses a massive threat to this German backline and will be licking his lips at the prospect of coming up against a defence that leaked four at the weekend, so we’ll back the youngster to get on the scoresheet.
