Group G has been the most evenly matched in the Europa League this term and we’re set for a thrilling finale with just three points separating first-placed Rangers with Feyenoord at the bottom.
None of the four sides are guaranteed or denied a spot in the next round yet, though the Gers only need a point to secure progress to the knockouts, while a draw might even suffice for Young Boys should Feyenoord win away at Porto.
Young Boys could have done with some better form coming into this fixture as they’ve lost two of their past three matches, with manager Gerardo Seoane even admitting that his side are low on confidence.
The exception was a narrow 1-0 win hosting Luzern domestically, who are eighth in the 10-team Swiss Super League, while Young Boys had to rely upon an own goal for the points as they lacked a cutting edge.
They’ve been reliant upon winning their home games and on their travels, they’re just W2-D4-L3 across the league and Europe combined since late August.
Rangers To Beat Young Boys
Away form has long been an issue for the Swiss outfit in Europe, as they’ve lost 12 of 19 trips since 2015/16, winning just once, while even excluding losses to top sides Juventus, Valencia, Man Utd and Porto, that’s still a poor eight defeats from 15 matches.
By contrast, Rangers have won 10 of 13 unbeaten fixtures at Ibrox in Europe under Steven Gerrard, registering nine clean sheets and winning each of the past six by an aggregate score of 15-1.

Broadening out to all competitions, the hosts have now won all but one of their last 17 matches at Ibrox since the start of April, as the exception came in early September in league action to Celtic.
They also kept clean sheets in 12 of these victories, including five of six Europa League matches, and while a couple of those games were against weaker opposition in qualifying, it still includes win to nil successes over Porto (2-0), Feyenoord (1-0) and Legia Warszawa (1-0).
Rangers have a couple of concerns heading into this game as Steven Davis (calf) and Filip Helander (foot) are unavailable.
However, they have the resources to cope and it’s Young Boys who have the greater concerns in that department, with as many as six players missing through injury.
Most importantly, captain and centre-back Fabian Lustenberger won’t take to the field, with the Swiss outfit losing each of their four away matches in his absence since the start of last season, with three of them coming by at a three-goal margin including 3-0 losses to Servette and Basel this term.
