CRYSTAL PALACE V NORWICH ODDS HERE!
Recent Form
Norwich started the season in impressive fashion as they created some good chances against Liverpool at Anfield, before beating Newcastle 3-1 at Carrow Road and more recently an unprecedented 3-2 home victory over champions Man City.
However, while they won’t be at all disappointed with their haul of six points from six games so far (especially having faced Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City already) they need to sort out their away form.
They’ve suffered 2-0 defeats to West Ham and Burnley in their last two fixtures on the road, while they also went down 1-0 away to League Two outfit Crawley in the League Cup.
Under 2.5 Goals
This should be a fairly even contest however, given the Eagles are hardly soaring themselves at present, leaving us a tad surprised to see Roy Hodgson’s men priced at evens for this clash.
Across their last four matches in all competitions, Palace have been dumped out of the League Cup at Selhurst Park by League Two outfit Colchester on penalties, secured a 1-0 win hosting a 10-man Aston Villa, been thumped 4-0 at Spurs, while last time out they threw away a win at the death hosting Wolves who were also down a man for the final 17 minutes.
Only relegated Huddersfield picked up fewer points than Palace in home games last season, so we wouldn’t touch them at the prices. Even though the Canaries are still missing a few players, they’re not without as many as they were when downing Man City and so they appear a far better prospect than the hosts on the double chance.
Norwich or Draw Double Chance
Given those three defeats Norwich endured away at Crawley, West Ham and Burnley all saw fewer than three goals, we’re not expecting this to be a high-scoring contest.
Indeed, all four games played at Selhurst Park this term have featured a maximum of two goals, with just three strikes in total across these as the 1-1 draw with Wolves was the highest-scoring affair.
Norwich haven’t been the best in front of goal on their travels and Palace lack a striker who guarantees output at the sharp end, so at a shade of odds-against we’ll happily snap up Under 2.5 Goals.
In fact, up against bottom-half finishers last season or when facing teams that are in the bottom half this term, Palace have seen fewer than three goals in eight of 11 home matches.
