Both teams will be very happy with their respective starts to the season. Leicester sit in third place, just two points shy of Man City, as they’re the only side other than the title-chasing duo to keep pace with the best defensive records in the division while at the same time ranking amongst the best attacks.

The Eagles aren’t typically going to concede bucket loads under the tutelage of the conservative Roy Hodgson, but Leicester’s forwards will be in buoyant mood and their hosts haven’t kept many clean sheets this campaign.
A struggling Everton side and promoted duo Aston Villa and Norwich are the only teams whose attacks Palace have shut the door on, while the memory of conceding four times to a Spurs outfit that have faced some difficulties won’t have been completely forgotten either.
Leicester Start As favourites
The Foxes deservedly start as favourites, but this game is a potential banana skin for them. In fact, Palace did the double over them last season, including a resounding 4-1 victory when the two last met in February at the King Power, while the season before that they ran out 3-0 winners there and even won 5-0 at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles aren’t exactly awash with firepower usually, but nevertheless expect Leicester’s defensive mettle to be tested on Sunday.

This clash certainly bears the hallmarks of an exciting fixture, with five of six head-to-heads over the past three seasons featuring at least three goals, as two thirds of them saw a minimum of four.
Looking at Palace’s results against the ‘Big Six’ and Leicester combined, exactly half of their 32 such league matches since 2017/18 have witnessed no fewer than four successful efforts on target.
Given Brendan Rodgers’ team have seen at least three strikes in each of their past seven fixtures in all competitions, also racking up big tallies against Newcastle (5-0) and Luton Town (4-0), the odds-against price for over 2.5 goals is not to be missed, while over 3.5 is tempting itself.

One man who might expect himself to get amongst the scorers is Jamie Vardy. In the past, while he would score a fair few goals against the weaker teams, his speciality was using his pace to run in behind high back lines (usually the better teams playing on the front foot).

Although the ability to counter with pace remains, Leicester have evolved under Brendan Rodgers and enjoy a greater share of possession than they used to, with Vardy staying in more central positions rather than selflessly running the channels.
The result has been more opportunities in the box when facing deeper backlines, and with 19 goals in 21 league appearances since the departure of Claude Puel, looks well placed to deliver again.
