NORWICH V ASTON VILLA ODDS HERE!
Norwich Recent Form
The 3-2 victory Norwich achieved over Man City has been overshadowed by consecutive 2-0 defeats away to Burnley and Palace.
That means the Canaries have now lost five of the last six in all competitions, failing to score in four of the last five, as they also went down 2-0 away to the Hammers and 1-0 at Crawley in the League Cup.
However, Daniel Farke won’t be panicking just yet as at Carrow Road this season, his side have beaten Newcastle in addition to Pep Guardiola’s outfit, while they also pushed Chelsea all the way as they succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.
Three of Aston Villa’s four defeats have come on their travels this season, so this should be fairly closely run.
Villa Recent Form
Indeed, the visitors have only won once in their last five outings (W1-D2-L2), though their form does appear to picking up.
Since losing with 10 men away at Palace, the Villans have held a West Ham side that are currently fifth in the table to a stalemate, lost 3-2 away to Arsenal at the Emirates courtesy of two late goals, beaten Brighton 3-1 on the road in the League Cup, and were somewhat unfortunate not to come away with maximum points in their 2-2 draw hosting Burnley.
Villa To Score First
The concession of late strikes has to be a worry however, with eight of the 12 goals Villa have conceded across all competitions this season coming with 73 minutes or more on the clock.
Meanwhile, Norwich have shipped the first of the game in six of eight outings, so the visitors look well placed to draw first blood, whether or not it’s enough to extract maximum points.
Given Norwich have conceded at least twice in all but one of their seven league fixtures this term and are yet to keep a clean sheet, this is a big opportunity for Villa. Indeed, the hosts are still suffering from a string of absentees or injury doubts.
They include first and second choice goalkeepers Tim Krul and Ralf Fuhrman, defenders Jamal Lewis, Christoph Zimmermann and Tim Klose, as well as midfielders Alexander Tettey, Noel Hernandez and Tom Trybull.
Villa Draw No Bet
Tettey in particular is a massive loss, with the key defensive midfielder and Norwegian international only managing to play more than 13 minutes on the single occasion so far this season – the 3-2 win over City.
Given Norwich’s missing men, their poor form, combined with a slight uptick in Villa’s results, the visitors are a smart play draw no bet.
