Norwich may still be mired in the relegation zone, but they’re within touching distance of the Hammers now after a first win in eight outings last weekend away to a similarly struggling Everton side.
Todd Cantwell and Dennis Srbeny bagged the Canaries’ first goals away from home since Teemu Pukki netted at Anfield on the opening day, so manager Daniel Farke will be hoping they can build upon that.
For the Gunners, the hope is that temporary boss Freddie Ljungberg can arrest the slide. The visitors will have to address some seriously inept away performances however, with Arsenal possessing just four victories from their last 19 league games on their travels, while they’ve only managed to score five goals in their six such games this term.
The Canaries will have fond memories of how they stunned Man City at Carrow Road back in September.
They benefitted from some horrendous defending in that encounter, but they’ll feel that their visitors here can be gotten at in much the same manner.
However, we’re wary of any potential manager bounce that Arsenal could prosper from, and with the Gunners at odds-on, we’d avoid the outright market at the prices.
Although Norwich have struggled for firepower on their travels, back at home they’ve scored 10 times within their past six outings, registering on the board in five of those games, and it’s hard to see Ljungberg sorting out his sides’ rearguard in the space of just a few days.
The Swede shouldn’t need to tinker too much with the attack however, with Arsenal only failing to score twice from 13 matches this season. The exceptions came away to Leicester and Sheffield United, with the former boasting the best defensive record in the division while the latter are third on that list.
Over 3.5 Goals
It should come as no surprise then that both teams to score holds little value. However, with Carrow Road witnessing 26 goals in just six matches this season, as all but one of those games saw a minimum of four strikes and half featuring at least five, backing over 3.5 goals appears profitable.
With the goalscorer market opened up, there’s little value to be gained in getting behind the Arsenal forwards.
Aubameyang and Lacazette are priced up incredibly short considering the former has just two goals in his last eight games across all competitions, while the Frenchman has only scored in one of his five starts since his return from injury as he hit a brace at home to Southampton.
Instead, Todd Cantwell looks the best price of the bunch. His goal set his team on the right path last weekend, while he’s also registered against other ‘Big Six’ outfits Chelsea and Man City at this ground, so we’ll have a little flutter on the young Englishman here.
