Confidence Boosting Win For Newcastle
Gloom and doom had threatened to cloak Newcastle after defeats in their opening two games, but they’ll be buoyed with fresh hope having beaten Spurs 1-0 at the weekend.

Leicester’s only injury concern surrounds left-back Ben Chilwell, with Christian Fuchs an able replacement, but Newcastle have a string of absentees to hurt their cause.
Captain Jamaal Lascelles and summer signing Joelinton had to come off in the final 10 minutes at the weekend, but while Newcastle possess a strong core of centre-backs, the latter – who scored the only goal of the game against Spurs – will be harder to replace should he fail to recover in time.
Indeed, Andy Carroll is some way off his return and Allan Saint-Maximin also had to come off at the weekend too, while back-up option Dwight Gayle is a doubt as well, so Steve Bruce’s choices at the sharp end appear somewhat limited.
Leicester To Win
With a patchwork attack, Bruce will be encouraged to utilize the 4-5-1 formation that worked so well at Spurs, rather than chopping and changing his team again.
However, while the tactic may reduce the number of times Leicester can carve them open, the Foxes may only have to do it once to succeed.
The visitors have been knocked out of the League Cup on penalties in the quarter-final stage by Man City in each of the last two seasons, while Newcastle have been dumped out at the first hurdle in each of the past three attempts.
