This is a monumental occasion as these two unbeaten Pool 4 European giants lock horns in Limerick this weekend.
Munster hammered an Ospreys outfit in their Champions Cup opener, with their opponents lacking the firepower of their Rugby World Cup stars from the off, with just a few featuring from the bench.
That was always going to be a tall order for the Welsh team, even if it was on their home patch, and so it isn’t surprising that they were downed by a 19-point margin.
Racing 92 on the other hand, put reigning champions Saracens to bed by 20 points, but given all that’s going on with that club it’s hard to get too excited about that result, not to mention their absence of multiple key players.
The Irish side are currently three points clear at the top of Conference B in the PRO14 table and look to be in fine fettle.
Indeed, their sole defeat this season came in Bloemfontein against the Cheetahs over a month ago, but they have since backed that result up with victories over Ospreys (twice), Cardiff Blues and Ulster, so this looks set to be an absolute cracker.
Munster To Win
Racing 92 have really shown their hand this month with punishing victories in their derby with Stade Francais and Saracens, making them the team to beat in what is the hardest pool in this this years’ edition of the European Champions Cup.
The only concern for them in this fixture would be their ability to grind out a result on the road, as their only five away wins in 14 trips since Christmas last year have come over Grenoble, Perpignan and Agen last season, as well as Pau and Stade Francais this term.
Those three sides they beat last term ended the season as the bottom three in the French Top 14, while their local Paris rivals currently prop up the table this term by a clear margin.
It should be noted though, that only two of their eight defeats came by more than nine points, while they even managed a stalemate at Clermont.

It’s a well-known fact that not many people come to Cork or Limerick and come away with any points, let alone a win.
In fact, Munster have won 24 of their 25 unbeaten such outings both in the Pro14 and Europe since 2018, with that sole stalemate hosting a very respectable Ulster outfit.
Moreover, 15 of those came by more than 12 points, although across their last 10 the better sides they’ve faced have kept things much tighter, with Leinster, Exeter, Benetton and Ulster all being within nine points.
