Recent Form
It looked like it was going to be business as usual for the Mumbai Indians who had won back-to-back matches after losing their opener in what had become a bit of a routine over the seasons.
Though successive defeats have seen them slip further behind the leaders now and they may just be showing signs that they’re not quite the same outfit as last year.
Rohit Sharma has looked as good as ever, being the only player to hit 200 runs from just five matches so far this season and while Suryakumar Yadav has knocked nicely at three, Quinton de Kock has been in appalling form, scoring three or less in three of his last four innings.
Those two can’t do all the work themselves and with de Kock or the middle order showing up, there’s very little chance of Mumbai taking a win from this.
Rajasthan Royals To Win
The Royals haven’t looked much better though and have relied quite heavily on Chris Morris in both their victories so far.
Jos Buttler is yet to step up to the mark in the absence of his England team-mates Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer, and he’ll drastically need to improve that 17.8 average to help Sanju Samson with the runs.
This game is there for an individual to take by the scruff of the neck, and while the toss will have a significant impact on the outcome, the value looks to be with the Royals to take this one with both sides not too high on confidence at the moment.
