Recent Form
Man Utd desperately need a top-four finish to salvage their season, but it’s difficult to see them hauling in Arsenal and Tottenham at the moment given their current form.
Across all competitions, Ralph Rangnick’s men have only won three of 10 fixtures since the start of February, with this spell including a defeat on penalties to Championship side Middlesbrough, as well as league stalemates with the likes of Burnley, Southampton and Watford.
With just the single victory in five appearances now, it’s undeniable that they’re currently headed in the wrong direction.
Leicester have endured their own fair share of troubles this season, though at least Brendan Rodgers can point to a ridiculous injury list at times and especially earlier on in the campaign.
However, whilst Ryan Bertrand and Marc Albrighton are the only wide men now absent, and centre-backs Wesley Fofana and Jonny Evans are back available, key defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is injured and talismanic striker Jamie Vardy is also a doubt.
Despite some ongoing injury concerns, the Foxes have seen their form pick up and have won five of their last seven.
One of the two defeats was inflicted by an in-form Arsenal and the other came to Rennes in Europe, though the latter result didn’t prove costly having previously won the first leg.
Clean sheets are still hard to come by however, as Leicester have managed just five from their last 35 matches now.
Both Teams To Score
Both teams have scored in all four meetings between these sides since the start of last season, with these averaging 4.25 goals per game, and the Foxes are certainly no strangers to high-octane clashes with elite sides.
Looking at their results against the top seven in the table this season, including domestic cup games, as well as European clashes with Italian heavyweights Napoli, there’s been at least four goals in over half of 14 such matches.
Man Utd have only managed two clean sheets from their past 10 appearances, with both teams scoring in seven of these, so they don’t appear watertight in defence either.
Leicester +1.25 Handicap
The booing of club captain Harry Maguire on international duty with England will hardly help boost his fragile confidence, so we’d expect both sides to end up on the scoreboard.
Although Leicester do still have some injury problems to contend with, whereas Man Utd are only without Edinson Cavani, the visitors still appear worth siding with on current form.
It’s also worth noting that Brendan Rodgers is aiming for a fourth consecutive victory over the Red Devils here.
PREDICTIONS:
BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
LEICESTER +1.25 HANDICAP
