BOOSTED ODDS FOR THE WEEKEND'S FOOTBALL!
Recent Form
This is the one the fans have been waiting for and it’s just a shame they won’t be able to be at Old Trafford for the first league meeting between these two historic rivals since February 2004.
You can guarantee this will be a hard-fought fixture, especially considering both are coming off good wins in midweek.
Man United did it their usual hard way on the road, falling behind before coming back to win for the sixth successive away game this season when they beat Sheffield United 3-2.
Marcus Rashford found his shooting boots again, bagging a brace to get his side over the line and United will be hoping he can put on a similar display here.
Leeds +1 Handicap
Leeds played out a stunning 5-2 victory over Newcastle, though consistency has been the issue for them this season going W5-D2-L6, while there’s a clear distinction in results between clubs above and below them in the table.
The Whites have picked up 2.5 points per game against sides lower down than them, and just 0.78 against side further up.
While we’d expect there to be disparity, it shouldn’t be that great and up against a side who could go second if they were to win their game in hand, Leeds might be up against it here.
What does go in the visitors’ favour, though, is the venue. United have won just once at Old Trafford in their last eight league outings there going back to early July.
That result came against a lowly West Brom outfit on the brink of sacking their manager, and even in that game they would consider themselves very fortunate to have picked up all three points so that’s certainly encourages us to not back the hosts here.
Under 2.5 Goals
In truth, it’s difficult to ascertain what you’re going to get from this Leeds side in terms of results and goals, though you can guarantee they’ll work tirelessly until the very last whistle and in a game of this magnitude, it would be surprising if that didn’t serve them well.
Old Trafford has seen some very low scoring affairs in recent weeks, with a total of just two goals across the last four matches to be played there and although there is some serious goalscoring talent on display, that record speaks for itself and at an extremely long price for ‘Unders’, we can’t turn it down.
