Leicester have made a great start to the season and find themselves behind only Liverpool and Man City after four games. Solid draws with Wolves and Chelsea were followed by victories over Sheffield Utd and Bournemouth, so we’re surprised to see Man Utd at such a short price to take the spoils.
The optimism surrounding the Red Devils following their opening day 4-0 win over the Blues has been wiped out following a winless run of three matches, but while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hope to have a few players back following the international break, there’s still a problem in the full-back areas.
Leicester To Exploit Young
Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial are expected to have recovered by this game, as might Diogo Dalot, but first choice full-backs Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka should miss out here.
That provides them with a major issue given the Foxes have concentrated their attacks out wide, particularly down their right flank (44% based on touches) where they’ll likely be up against the ageing Ashley Young.
Since 2017/18, United have won 65% of the 23 matches where the veteran has been absent from the starting line-up, compared to just 53% of the 57 games he’s started over this period, while they’ve conceded 1.19 goals per game with him and just 0.78 without.

That will certainly increase the visitors’ chances of registering on the board and United have seen both sides find the net in each of their last three outings, even conceding twice at home to Crystal Palace.
Leicester have also both scored and conceded in their past four fixtures across all competitions, but though one of these came in the League Cup, it still came against Premier League opponents in the shape of Newcastle.

United’s problems have primarily come on the road but they’ve still only gone W1-D1-L3 across their last five home games, including a defeat to Cardiff on the final day last term. They’re a seriously unimpressive W3-D4-L9 home or away across all competitions going back into March, while over the same period Leicester are a far more respectable W7-D5-L2, leaving them excellent value on the double chance.
Indeed, the Foxes have only lost three of their last 10 encounters with ‘Big Six’ sides going back to a 1-1 draw with Man City in the League Cup during December (W3-D4-L3).

Given we favour Leicester for this encounter but expect both sides to find the net, the 2-1 correct score holds some considerable appeal. For all their problems, United have only twice conceded more than two goals in 33 competitive games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with one of those coming against Barcelona.
Meanwhile, the visitors have only scored more than twice in one of 14 clashes with the ‘Big Six’ since the start of last season in all tournaments, though they have enough firepower to take the win with the likes of Jamie Vardy, James Maddison and Youri Tielemans in their ranks.
