Watford Comeback

Last term they beat both Schalke in the Champions League and Arsenal in the Premier League with those two, though they did end up conceding three times across those matches as it certainly wasn’t a watertight combination.

Although the hosts’ should find themselves in danger of conceding a goal, it’s hard to look past the reigning champions for the victory given the disparity between these two sides. Man City hold a phenomenal W19-D1-L1 record at the Etihad since the start of last season, while Watford have now gone nine games without a win going back into last season, losing six of these.
In addition, the Hornets were also humbled 6-0 by their opponents here in last seasons’ FA Cup final, but while the Citizens kept a clean sheet, Kompany and Laporte started at the back that day.
Moreover, Watford lost 11 of 12 league encounters with the ‘Big Six’ last term, though both teams scored in seven of these including both tussles with Man City, as Laporte started neither of those head-to-head meetings.
