Rangers asserted their supremacy in the Old Firm derby in dominant fashion, with their fifth win in six unbeaten clashes against Celtic, and few would bet against them completing an unbeaten season now with just two fixtures left to navigate.
Steven Gerrard will be warning his charges against complacency, but those final two matches are against the two weakest teams to make the cut at gameweek 33 for a top-half finish.
First up is Livingston, who are a poor W1-D4-L8 over 90 minutes in all competitions since early February.
That includes defeats in each of their past three league encounters, including a 6-0 mauling at the hands of Celtic, and it’s difficult to see this game ending in anything other than a win for the Gers.
Rangers have won eight of nine unbeaten clashes with Livingston since November 2018, and only conceded a single goal over this period.
That includes shutouts in each of the past six meetings, with five of those ending in 1-0 or 2-0 victories and the other producing a goalless stalemate.
Rangers may have scored four times at home to Celtic last time out, but they’re not usually as prolific on their travels.
Rangers To Win 1-0, 2-0 Or 2-1
In the league alone, they’ve scored exactly once in each of their last six appearances, winning two of them 1-0 and drawing 1-1 on four occasions.
Although Motherwell, Hamilton, Celtic and St. Johnstone each took a point in that recent run of away fixtures, a combination of Livingston’s current form and past record in the head to heads makes it difficult to see the Gers slipping up here.
However, the win to nil isn’t quite appetizing enough given both teams have scored in seven of Livingston’s past eight in all competitions.
With that in mind, the multibet offers decent value. Rangers don’t look like they’ll rack up a big scoreline, but with the potential for a home goal, the 1-0, 2-0 and 2-1 scorelines appear to cover the most likely outcomes.
There’s been a maximum of three goals in each of Livingston’s past seven home league games, as each of their last five defeats on home turf have finished with one of those three scorelines.
Moreover, the same has been true in nine of Rangers’ 12 wins on the road this term, including all four this side of Christmas.
