Recent Form
These two sides face off for the second time in five days and although they played out a goalless stalemate at the weekend, the game wasn’t without chances and Livingston will have greater cause for regret, with some wayward finishing preventing them from taking maximum points.
They caused the Hoops problems with some energetic pressing and we’d expect them to take the same approach here, especially if Shane Duffy takes to the field again with the Celtic centre-back looking far from comfortable in possession all season.
The reigning champions remain 21 points adrift of Rangers after Steven Gerrard’s side were also held to a draw this weekend at Motherwell, but despite holding three games in hand, cementing second place is now the immediate priority with the gap seemingly insurmountable.
After briefly recovering some form in December, they’re still winless in the new year as they went down narrowly at Ibrox to Rangers and limped to stalemates hosting Hibernian and Livingston.
Neil Lennon will be boosted by the return of the 13 players that missed those last two games, but his side have still won just twice in eight road trips across all competitions, with the last four including heavy defeats to Sparta Prague and Milan in Europe, in addition to the trip to Ibrox, as their sole win from these recent away days came over basement dwellers Hamilton.
Livingston + 0.75 Asian Handicap
Livingston won’t lack for confidence having been in some great form of late, winning 10 of their last 12 in all competitions, including eights wins on the bounce under new manager David Martindale before the weekend draw.
Overall, eight of those 10 victories came by more than a single goal, so they look worth getting behind with Celtic consistently performing below par this term.
Livingston have already taken a point at home to Rangers this season, while they managed four points from two clashes hosting Celtic last term.
In fact, home or away, the Hoops have only won two of the past seven head-to-heads since November 2018, both at Celtic Park, so have plenty of convincing to do.
Scott Robinson To Score Anytime
Midfielder Scott Robinson has competition from new signing Jack Hamilton for the hosts, but he’s been performing well in the forward role and should continue to lead the line here.
He’s bagged four goals and three assists from his past seven appearances in all competitions, scoring once every 94 minutes in the league alone over this period.
He was perhaps unfortunate not to score with a headed chance at the weekend and with Celtic’s issues primarily stemming from the back, is worth a small punt to get onto the scoresheet.
