Livingston made a fantastic start to the season as they went unbeaten across their first nine matches when including League Cup fixtures, including two wins from four league outings, but things have quickly deteriorated since.
They’ve now lost four on the trot, conceding an average of two per game across these, so their prospects don’t look good ahead of the visit of Celtic.
The Hoops may have dropped points for the first time in the league this season away at Hibs last week, though the result shouldn’t be overly concerning given that Neil Lennon’s side bossed proceedings. Indeed, they had a couple of strong penalty shouts denied and dominated for large spells, registering 20 shots to their opponents’ three, in what was ultimately an ill-tempered game.

Livingston were excellent defensively upon their return to the Premiership last term, even earning goalless stalemates in two of three encounters with Celtic. However, some of that resolve appears to have disintegrated and the concession of late efforts has to be a concern for Gary Holt’s men.
They’ve now conceded within the final 15 minutes in four of their last six league outings, while Celtic should find themselves with greater opportunities as the game wears on and their opponents tire from chasing the ball. At least one team has found the net from the 76th minute onwards in six of Celtic’s 10 league games since May, with nine goals during this time period in total (seven for Celtic).

Although Celtic should have few problems getting the job done, there’s good reason to think that Livingston can hold out until half time.
The hosts have only trailed at the break in one of their seven league outings to date, conceding just two first half goals across all these games combined, while two of the last three have seen them register Draw/Loss doubles.
Given Celtic have failed to take the lead after in opening 45 in their last two games, while they haven’t scored more than a solitary first half strike in each of their past five, the half-time/full-time market provides a way of getting the visitors onside.
Indeed, they could also suffer slightly from their schedule as they have a taxing game to play with CFR Cluj on Thursday night.
