Slip up?
After such a strong start to the season for both Liverpool and Manchester City, it does seem that Liverpool has taken its foot off the gas with two losses and a draw in the last three games. Liverpool has played with such pace and flair, which has caused teams like Paris Saint Germain and Tottenham Hotspur to both come unstuck, but this was certainly not on display on Wednesday night when they lost 1-0 in the Champions League away to Napoli.
Manchester City on the other hand had a strong night away to Hoffenheim in the Champions League where they came from behind to see out a 2-1 win. This will have boosted City’s confidence and most importantly Champions League group position following the unlikely loss at home to Lyon.
