Nice v Monaco
Nice remain unbeaten this season under former Lille boss Christophe Galtier and after a goalless stalemate with Reims on the opening day, they’ve since record victories by minimum two-goal margins over Lille, Bordeaux and Nantes. They’re yet to even concede a goal, sitting in fourth place in the table despite being docked a point in their abandoned game with Marseille, which they were leading 1-0 when the game was halted.
Monaco have plenty of games under their belt in the new campaign having featured five times in Europe in addition to their five league outings, with a very mixed W4-D2-L4 record to date. Those four defeats have all come within their last seven fixtures though and they failed to score in any of those losses, while a 1-0 triumph over Sturm Graz on home turf on Thursday suggests their attack isn’t firing on all cylinders.

Marseille v Rennes
Rennes kicked off their campaign with a five-game unbeaten streak in all competitions, winning three of these, though they’ve since failed to win in three appearances, losing 2-0 to both Angers and Reims, before a 2-2 draw with Tottenham in Europe. That leave them with just two clean sheets from eight fixtures in total, though by the same token they’ve only failed to score in two of these as well.
Marseille will be growing in confidence as after an unbeaten pre-season, including clashes with Braga, Benfica, Saint-Etienne and Villarreal, the competitive action has also brought positive results. A stalemate midweek away at Lokomotiv Moscow was a disappointment, but three wins from four unbeaten league games is a good return.
Marseille have only suffered a single defeat in 12 league games since the start of April now, with seven of those ending in victory. On home turf alone, they’ve won seven of 10 unbeaten games since mid-February, and although there haven’t been too many clean sheets, they look well-placed to beat a side that has lost six of their past 10 on the road.

PSG v Lyon
Although PSG failed to shine away at Club Brugge midweek, despite the trio of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi all starting, they’ve won all five league games to date and for the most part quite comfortably. The last four have seen them win by a minimum two-goal margin, scoring four times in three of those, though they look set to be without Mbappe for this clash having suffered an ankle injury in Wednesday’s clash.
Lyon failed to win any of their opening three fixtures this campaign, but they’ve since found their feet with league wins over Nantes and Strasbourg, as well as another on the road to Rangers, who hold a commanding record at Ibrox since the start of last season. They’ve only failed to score in one of their six appearances so far, and will fancy their chances of registering at the Parc des Princes.
Both teams have scored in eight of PSG’s last 12 league games and even on home turf, they’ve only managed two shutouts in nine appearances. Both sides have registered in nine of Lyon’s past 11 league games, while three of the last five head-to-heads between these two in all competitions since 2020 have featured six goals.
