Recent Form
Leicester come into this full of confidence off the back of reaching their first FA Cup final since 1969, and although the plans for a Super League may render the race for top four pointless, that’s certainly not a reason for Leicester to let this slip again and they’ll be desperate to stop the rut and get their first points on the board since the international break, and that’ll certainly be easier said than done against this rampant West Brom side.
The Baggies are making a late bid for survival as having managed just six goals and one victory from 11 matches prior to the international break, they’ve scored eight in two as they’ve recorded comprehensive back-to-back victories over Chelsea and Southampton to leave them nine points adrift of 17th placed Burnley with a game in hand.
Although safety seems unlikely at the moment, a win here would go a long way for confidence and would put pressure on the teams above them.
It’s on that basis that Leicester look far too short to get behind here. Only Everton have a proportionally worse away record than the Foxes in contrast to their home record, with Brenden Rogers’ side down in seventh in a table based solely on home results, and this midlands derby could prove tumultuous for the hosts here.
Sam Allardyce’s side have been extremely difficult to beat lately, losing just two of their last eight matches, which came by agonising 1-0 score lines to Everton and Crystal Palace, so we’d be surprised if they were to get run over here by the Foxes.
Both Teams To Score
Aside from the 1x2 market, there looks every chance that there could be goals in this game. As mentioned, the visitors have managed eight in their last two alone and there’s no suggestion that they’ll be slowing down.
Leicester have found a regular goalscorer who is filling the void during this dry spell for Jamie Vardy, and that was recognised in Kelechi Ihaneacho’s player of the month award, so the both teams to score market looks to offer up a healthy price.
Leicester won the reverse fixture by a convincing 3-0 scoreline back in September, though that was when West Brom were under the management of Slaven Bilic and that result should be taken with a pinch of salt, even if Leicester have won three of the last four unbeaten head-to-heads.
We wouldn’t be entirely confident of them taking the spoils here though considering the Baggies have avoided defeat in nearly half of their nine Premier League meetings with the Foxes, and we’ll just stick with the one bet for this game.
