Recent Form
Tottenham had their games with Rennes and Brighton called off and they remain without an extensive list of players, though both sides enter this fixture shorn of a number of regulars.
The visitors are primarily affected in attack, where Heung-min Son, Lucas Moura, Bryan Gil and Dane Scarlett are all ruled out. Harry Kane will have to carry the attacking burden, supported by Steven Bergwijn, though they’re also affected further back.
Oliver Skipp’s absence should mean a rare appearance for Harry Winks, Emerson Royal will have to be replaced by either Matt Doherty or Joseph Tanganga, while Cristian Romero remains sidelined and Sergio Reguilon is also a doubt.
The Foxes have had their own covid cases, though it didn’t stop them recording a dominant 4-0 win over a sorry Newcastle outfit last time out. Their attack is also on the thin side with Ayoze Perez, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman amongst those to miss out, but there are even greater problems further back.
Brendan Rodgers has had to get used to living without injured duo Wesley Fofana and James Justin, but he has something of a crisis at the back with Jonny Evans a doubt after going off early against Newcastle.
Jannik Vestergaard, Daniel Amartey and Filip Benkovic are all unavailable, so Wilfried Ndidi is set to start at the back alongside Caglar Soyuncu.
Both Teams To Score
Tottenham may be missing significant chunks of their first-choice attack, while Leicester recorded a clean sheet last time out, but the Foxes have been far from convincing defensively all season.
Only four teams have conceded more league goals than them this term, while across all competitions, the shutout against the Magpies was their first in 17 appearances.
They conceded at least twice in 11 of these, with both teams scoring on 13 occasions, so it would be a surprise if they could register another clean sheet here.
Antonio Conte has led his side to back-to-back clean sheets hosting Brentford and Norwich, though Leicester can of course boast a more potent attack than those sides and the hosts should have Jamie Vardy back in the side after he was an unused substitute last time out.
Patson Daka, Jamie Maddison, Youri Tielemans and Harvey Barnes all offer a goal threat too, and a reduced Tottenham side should struggle to contain them.
Indeed, Spurs’ second string were found wanting when handed a chance in Europe, suffering an embarrassing 2-1 defeat recently to Slovenian outfit Mura.
PREDICTION:
BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
