Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Leeds in midweek means they remain unbeaten since their 5-0 hammering at the hands of Man City at the end of August, winning six of their eight matches since.
However, when breaking that down, one victory came against AFC Wimbledon, while four of the other five have come against sides in the bottom half of the table, with their 3-1 North London derby victory the only one of note.
Leicester are looking as though their season is getting back on track as they’re now unbeaten in five across all competitions and scoring at least twice in all five of those outings.
They currently sit above the Gunners on goal difference, after back-to-back league wins over Man United and Brentford, and on home soil they’ll feel confident of getting three points here.
Despite a resurgence from Mikel Arteta’s men, they still struggle when on the road and have won just one of their four away games this season, with that coming in a 1-0 victory over winless Burnley, with that also the only goal the London side have managed to muster up on the road this year.
Leicester To Win And Both Teams To Score
We wouldn’t bank on Leicester keeping a clean sheet here though as the visitors do still pose a lot of danger in the final third, with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang getting back amongst the goals in recent weeks, while the Foxes have registered just one shutout in their last 13 matches since the opening day, with that coming against Millwall in the cup.
While Aubameyang poses the biggest threat for the North London outfit, Leicester will be hoping Jamie Vardy is on song against Arsenal once again.
The English forward has a better record against the Gunners than any other side, registering 11 goals in his last 12 league outings against them, including eight in his last eight and six in six on home soil.
Vardy sits second only to Mohamed Salah in the golden boot race this year and looks good value to get on the scoresheet again.
While the visitors took this fixture 3-1 last season, we’d be surprised if they did so again having not won back-to-back league matches away to the Foxes since the 1958/59 season, while the hosts had claimed each of the last three home league meetings prior to last season.
As mentioned, the visitors have been poor in front of goal on the road, scoring just once from four such game, though they managed to find the net in all of their last seven away games at the end of last season, netting at least twice in five so we’d expect them to take advantage of what has been a frail Leicester defensive line this year, and the both teams to score market looks worth coupling with the home win.
