After a stellar opening season back in the Premier League, it’s not all gone to plan for Marcelo Bielsa’s side so far, winning just one of their opening eight league outings as they sit just one spot above the relegation zone.
While it’s still very early days, and many believe that this Leeds side will pick up the pace, they’ll be determined not to get dragged into a relegation battle this term, and a win here will go a long way for confidence against a Wolves side seemingly turning a corner.
After an underwhelming start to the campaign, Wolves are now the league’s in form side having won each of their last three outings, most impressively when coming back from two goals down in the final 10 minutes against Aston Villa last weekend.
Recent head-to-heads have gone in favour of the visitors too, with the Midlands side winning each of the last five encounters, including three at Elland Road, with all three of those wins coming to nil.
Both results last season finished 1-0 to Wolves, and while low scoring encounters were few and far between for Leeds last season, they were common practice for Wolves, and the trend has somewhat continued this season with four of their six outings seeing under 2.5 goals land.
Wolves To Win Second Half
The visitors are very much a second half side having scored just one opening half goal so far this season (none away from home) and it’s therefore unsurprising that they haven’t been leading at the break in any of their games so far.
Leeds are quite the opposite, starting well and burning out towards the end of matches, with them failing to score a second half goal in any of their last five games.
Leeds will certainly be boosted by the return of arguably their three most influential players in Kalvin Phillips, Raphinha and Patrick Bamford, though that shouldn’t be enough on its own to see them head into this game as favourites, despite being on home soil.
The outcome seems up in the air in this game, with Leeds an ever-unpredictable outfit and Wolves brimming with confidence, though there is a clear trend of results before and after the interval, and that looks to provide the most value.
Leeds To Win First Half
Raul Jimenez is back amongst the goals having scored his first of the season prior to the international break, while he scored the winner in this fixture last season.
While the Mexican forward still provides Wolves’ main goal threat, he’s yet to push on from his opening goal of the season and is worth being slightly more reserved about, so we’ll stick with the half betting on this occasion.
