What an unbelievable performance it was from La Rochelle to overturn Leinster at the start of the month to seal their first ever European Cup final.
They now face four-time champions of this competition, Toulouse, in an all-French final and it looks set to be an absolute cracker with both teams also fighting it out at the head of the Top 14 domestically.
Le Stade have waited 11 years to reach this stage of this tournament with their last final coming in another all-French final back in 2010 against Biarritz, winning 21-19.
With the likes of Antoine Dupont, Jerome Kaino and Julian Marchand all being nominated for the European player of the year, it’s hardly surprising to see them fighting it out in the final, while they have world class players littered throughout their team.

These two sides have met on seven occasions since the start of 2018, with Toulouse winning all but one of those encounters.
That sole defeat came in La Rochelle and so now on mutual turf at the ‘home of rugby’, we’d expect Ugo Mola’s men to come out as victors once again.
It should be noted, that four of their six victories over the last three years, did come by fewer than 12 points, so we could be in for another close one.
In fact, the final of this tournament is normally a close one with fewer than 12 points separating the sides in 11 of the 13 European finals dating back to 2007/08.
One of the anomalies came when Leinster thrashed fellow Irish side Ulster in a fairly one sided affair and this certainly doesn’t look the case this time around.
