Steve Borthwick’s side were put to the sword against France last weekend as they were hammered 10-53 in front of a sullen Twickenham.
The game was effectively over by half-time and England were left to salvage their pride as France ran riot over them. Six Nations glory is now categorically impossible for England now, and the best they can do is perform to a respectable level in their remaining games.
As pitiful as England were, attention must go to Les Bleus, who performed with a level of urgency and relentless intensity England fans could only dream of seeing at this moment in time. The French demolition prevented Ireland from being crowned champions, but the Irish can still achieve victory should they beat England in their upcoming clash.

The vast majority of Ireland fans will be relishing the chance to play the bruised England this Saturday - especially as the game will take place the day after Ireland’s most famous national holiday.

France will hope to continue their pre-World Cup momentum with a win against Wales in Paris this Saturday. The French can still win the tournament, though they’ll need help from England in the process.
Montpellier lock Paul Willemse will miss the Wales game, whilst Liam Williams, who scored a stunning solo-try against Italy last week, is Wales’ latest absentee.
Hooker Scott Baldwin will also miss the game due to tearing his pectoral muscle.
France vs Wales will take place at the Stade De France at 2:45pm on Saturday 18 March.

Scotland vs Italy
Scotland are still reeling from their humbling loss to Italy last weekend, and the absences of Stuart Hogg and Finn Russell serve as further salt into their wounds.
Italy are winless in the 2023 Six Nations and have lost their past 11 meetings against Scotland. A win at Murrayfield will not alter their standings in the table, but it would at least provide some positivity to a miserable campaign.
Scotland vs Italy will take place at Murrayfield Stadium at 12:30pm on Saturday 18 March.
