Inter were definitely the better side when taking on a dangerous Leverkusen outfit and the 2-1 scoreline could have been bigger. Antonio Conte will have been pleased to see his team ride out a comfortable second half, but he’d have liked the game killed off sooner nonetheless.
Shakhtar enjoyed an easy time of things against Basel, running out 4-1 winners with the Swiss side’s strike coming in stoppage time at the end of proceedings.
The Ukrainian outfit’s forward prowess has never really been in doubt though and in fact, they’ve found the net in nine of 11 European games this term, as the two exceptions came against the strongest teams they’ve faced (Man City and Atalanta).

However, their defensive record isn’t so stellar and they only possess four clean sheets from 17 matches in all competitions since late February, despite typically facing weaker domestic teams for the most part.
Romelu Lukaku To Score Anytime
In European matches alone, Shakhtar have managed just one shutout in 28 games and we doubt Inter will fail to score with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez in their ranks.
The former has now scored in nine consecutive Europa League appearances, even if five of those games came playing for Everton back in 2014/15, but has been a consistent source of goals all season.
He’s playing with plenty of confidence at present and will have an eye on a potential meeting with former club Man Utd in the final, and is worth a small flutter to keep his streak going.
Inter Milan To Win
The Nerazzurri have found the net at least twice in nine of their last 10 unbeaten outings, including against the likes of Roma, Napoli, Atalanta, Getafe and Leverkusen.
They won seven of these games, with all but one of those victories coming by a minimum two-goal margin, and should have plenty of momentum now without a pause between domestic and European commitments.
Both Teams To Score
The Europa League would be Inter’s first bit of silverware since the Coppa Italia in 2011 and they look well placed to topple their Ukrainian opponents.
However, Shakhtar’s forward trio of Junior Moraes, Taison and Marlos are exciting, so we can see both sides finding the net in this one.
