Huddersfield may have hoped to bounce back from relegation with another promotion tilt but like plenty of teams before, adjusting back to the Championship has proven an arduous challenge.
They’ve lost six of seven winless games across all competitions under a combination of Jan Siewert and then caretaker manager Mark Hudson, so the Cowley brothers have their work cut out after arriving in the dugout from Lincoln.

He also has a potential problem at centre-back with Tom Lees struggling for fitness and since the defender arrived in 2014, the Owls have lost just 27% of the 188 games he’s started, compared with 42% of the 48 where he’s been absent.

Monk is unlikely to risk Lees as hamstring issues have a nasty habit of recurring if rushed back too early. With that in mind, we’re inclined to back the hosts as for all their defensive failings this term, they have proven adept at getting onto the scoresheet and Karlan Grant has already registered four times this season.
Given Sheffield Wednesday have won just four of their last 20 away games, with two of those against the bottom two sides from last term, Bolton and Ipswich, the hosts’ appear a solid prospect draw no bet.
