Recent Form
Rangers took another step closer to the title as they romped to a 5-0 win over lowly Ross County this weekend, leaving them 23 points clear of Old Firm rivals Celtic, who once again dropped points to Livingston.
The Hoops’ spare games in hand mean nothing now as Rangers’ superiority this term can be demonstrated by their goal difference alone, which is almost double that of Celtic’s, as they’ve now scored 65 times and conceded on just seven occasions.
In fact, Rangers have won a phenomenal 16 of 17 unbeaten league games since late September, while their hosts are currently enduring something of a sticky patch.
Hibernian are W1-D1-L4 since Christmas in all competitions, failing to score in each defeat as they were most recently downed at St. Johnstone in the League Cup.
Rangers To Win To Nil
Rangers have won four of five unbeaten clashes with Hibs since the start of last season, though they haven’t triumphed by more than a single goal in any of the past three meetings.
It’s also worth noting that Hibs have earnt stalemates in four of five matches hosting the Gers since 2018, with all but one of those encounters since Gerrard pitched up in Glasgow.
They certainly represent a potential banana skin then, though the current form of both sides still encourages us to get behind the visitors.
Midfielder Scott Arfield remains sidelined, but Rangers haven’t exactly struggled in his absence and beyond that Gerrard’s squad appears to have a clean bill of health, with Ryan Jack potentially in line to return for his first start since November.
Hibernian boss Jack Ross is without left-back Sean Mackie and midfielder Joe Newell, but that’s hardly a crowded treatment room either and we wouldn’t pay too much attention to the team news here.
Rangers/Rangers HT/FT
Hibs have trailed at the break in each of their six defeats this term, and given Rangers have led at both half time and full time in four of the past six head to heads, that market holds some considerable appeal.
Indeed, the Gers have led after the opening 45 in 19 of 22 league victories this season, while they’ve also managed 19 clean sheets to boot (18 win to nil).
With Hibs struggling for output at present, the win to nil as ever with Rangers is also a viable route in this game.
