Recent Form
After a slight wobble where they suffered defeat in the Champions League play-offs hosting Romanian outfit CFR Cluj and then required extra-time to see off Dunfermline in the League Cup, Celtic have resumed normality and have racked up four convincing victories.
Swedish side AIK (twice), Hearts and Rangers have all been downed by at least a two-goal margin, with the latter result putting them out in front on their own domestically once more.
Hamilton may be sitting in mid-table at this early stage of the campaign, but a record of one win from four outings is hardly great given the fixtures they’ve had and Brian Rice will have been concerned to see his team ship eight goals already (only Hibs and St. Johnstone have conceded more).
That should produce major anxiety ahead of hosting the champions, with Neil Lennon’s side already plundering 17 goals from four league outings, as well putting four past AIK in Stockholm just prior to the international break.
Celtic To Win 3-0
The Bhoys certainly haven’t had any problems finding the net in encounters with Hamilton in recent times either. They’ve won all nine head-to-heads since 2016/17, netting at least three times in over half of these, as a third of these games finished exactly 3-0 – including the two most recent meetings.
Hamilton have only kept five clean sheets from 21 home fixtures since the start of last season now. Given they’ve conceded at least three times in seven of nine home league games against Celtic, Rangers or Aberdeen since 2017/18 (the most consistent sides in Scotland over this period), we’d expect the Hoops to reach that output at a minimum.
Those nine games saw Hamilton lose eight times as they drew the other, while they recorded Loss/Loss doubles in seven of them too.
Halftime/Fulltime
Further, Celtic have led at both half-time and full-time in each of their four Premiership outings to date, as well as seven of those nine head-to-heads with Hamilton over the past three seasons. Seeing as the hosts’ have trailed in three of four games already this term, we’d be surprised if the visitors experienced anything other than a simple routine victory.
